Science 2º: Groups of animals

There are many kinds of animals.

(Hay muchos tipos de animales)

Animals can be mammals, bird, fish, amphibians, insects or reptiles.

(Los animales pueden ser mamíferos, pájaros, peces, anfibios, insectos o reptiles).

Y ahora, veamos los distintos tipos de animales, uno a uno:

MAMMALS

Mammals have hair or fur. They are viviparous, they have their babies inside the mother. The mother gives milk to the babies. They have lungs to breathe the oxygen from the air.

(Los mamíferos tienen pelo. Son vivíparos, ya que tienen a sus bebes en el interior de la madre. Las madres dan leche a sus bebes. Tienen pulmones para respirar el oxígeno del aire).

Some mammals are:

- zebra

- giraffe

- dog

Doggy is a mammal!

BIRDS

Birds have 2 wings with feathers, 2 legs and a beak. Most of the birds can fly! They are oviparous, they lay eggs.

(Los pájaros tienen 2 alas con plumas, 2 patas y un pico. ¡La mayoría de los pájaros puede volar! Son ovíparos, así que ponen huevos).

The flamingos are birds!

FISH

Fish have scaly skin and gills. They live in the water. They use their gills to breathe the oxygen from the water. They are oviparous, they lay eggs.

(Los peces tienen escamas en la piel y branquias. Viven en el agua. Utilizan las branquias para respirar el oxígeno del agua. Son ovíparos, así que ponen huevos).

The clownfish is a fish!

REPTILES

Reptiles have a dry scaly skin. Some reptiles have a shell. They are oviparous, they lay eggs.

(Los reptiles tienen escamas en su piel seca. Algunos reptiles tienen un caparazón. Son ovíparos, así que ponen huevos).

The snake is a reptile!

AMPHIBIANS 

Amphibians are oviparous. Baby amphibians are called tadpoles and live in the water. When they grow, they change and then they live on land.

(Los anfibios son ovíparos. Los anfibios recién nacidos se llaman renacuajos y viven en el agua. Cuando crecen, se transforman y pasan a vivir en la tierra).

The frog is a amphibian!

INSECTS

Insects have 6 legs and 3 body parts. Insects are oviparous, they lay eggs.

(Los insectos tienen 6 patas y un cuerpo dividido en 3 partes. Son ovíparos, así que ponen huevos).

The butterfly is an insect!
