- The printing press was invented by Johannes Gutenberg. Before the printing press was invented, not many people knew how to read and write.

- The penicillin was discovered by Alexander Fleming. Before the penicillin was discovered, people got sick and died easily.

- The telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell. Before the telephone was invented, people had to write letters or telegrams to communicate.
