Past, present and future

Actions that occurred yesterday, last month or a long time ago, are things that occurred in the past.
(Las acciones que ocurrieron ayer, el mes pasado o hace mucho tiempo, son cosas que ocurrieron en el pasado).

This is a family from the past.

(Ésta es una familia del pasado).

The present is the period of time that is happening now.
(El presente es el periodo de tiempo que está ocurriendo ahora).

This is a family from the present.

(Ésta es una familia del presente).

Actions or events that will happen tomorrow, next week or next year, will happen in the future.
(Las acciones o eventos que ocurrirán mañana, la semana que viene o el próximo año, ocurrirán en el futuro).

This is a family from the future.

(Esta es una familia del futuro)

People cooked, wash their clothes, worked and played very differnetly a long time ago. Today our lives are much easier.
(La gente cocinaba, lavaba su ropa, trabajaba y jugaba de una forma muy diferente hace mucho tiempo. Hoy en día nuestras vidas son mucho más fáciles).

For example: a long time ago, people washed their clothes in rivers or fountains. Today, we wash our clothes in a washing machine.
(Por ejemplo: hace mucho tiempo, la gente lavaba sus ropas en ríos o fuentes. Hoy en día, lavamos nuestra ropa en la lavadora).
